Dakshineswar Kali Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali Maa or Bhavatarini. The temple is situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River in Dakshineswar, Kolkata, West Bengal. Moreover, this temple was built in 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, a Zamindar, philanthropist, and devotee of Kali Maa. However, it is not a very ancient temple like other temples in India but it has a beautiful structure like old temples. The temple was built in the Navaratna or nine spires style of Bengal architecture. Inside the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, an idol of goddess Kali standing on the chest of a supine Shiva. Also, the two idols are placed on a thousand-petaled lotus throne made of silver.
